Aeschynantus Twister - Lipstick plant - Hanging plant

The Aeschynanthus Twister is a special plant with long green tendrils that hang down. The leaves of the plant are curled, which is why it is called “Twister”. The Aeschynanthus originally comes from Malaysia and other areas in Southeast Asia. Here, Aeschynanthus means “with flowers that are ashamed”. It is not clear where this name comes from, it could be because the flowers remain hidden for a long time or because the flowers have a red colour. The flowers of the plant are tubular and red-orange, which makes them look a lot like lipstick. The nickname of the Aeschynanthus Twister is therefore the “Lipstick plant”.

Dog Care
The Aeschynanthus Twister is a plant of tropical origin. Because of this, it prefers a lot of light, but not full sun. Furthermore, the Lipstick Plant is very sensitive to too much water. It is therefore best not to give the plant too much water, the potting soil may dry out between waterings. In the winter, the plant hibernates a kind of hibernation, which means it does not flower, but in the spring it does flower very easily! What is also good to know is that the Aeschynanthus Twister is not poisonous. In the rainforest it can grow up to 3 meters high, but in the living room it does not get that far.

Format
The plant has a height of 20-30cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plant is supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 15cm.
