Acer conspicuum 'Red Flamingo'

The Acer conspicuum 'Red Flamingo' is a snakeskin maple that offers year-round enjoyment. In winter, its young twigs are red with white veins. In spring, the young shoots and petioles are bright red, and the young leaves are mottled with white, pink, and green. In summer, it's an attractive plant with gracefully arching twigs, and in autumn, the leaves turn a beautiful yellow. In short, a colorful shrub or small tree that can grow to a height of about 450 cm.

Dog Care
Japanese maples are best planted from March to early October. During this period, the soil is warmer and the plants can root well. In a planter, this plant does not require special potting soil. Japanese maples are strong plants, but the leaves can be damaged in a windy location. Therefore, place the Acer in a sheltered spot. The plant prefers a spot in partial shade, preferably not too much direct sunlight. Too much direct sunlight can dry out the roots, which leads to leaf loss and burning. A Japanese maple is not evergreen, which means that it loses its leaves in the winter. However, the plant is very winter-hardy and will sprout again from March with beautiful new leaves.
