The Atropurpureum is a well-known species of Japanese maples. This beautiful Japanese maple is a real eye-catcher for any garden or balcony. It forms a branched, upright shrub with dark red, incised leaves that get a beautiful hue in the fall. In the winter, the maple loses its leaves, but due to its irregular branch structure, it is still a very decorative asset.

Care
The Acer Atropurpureum can be placed in both partial sun and shade, bright sunlight can damage the leaves. The maple is very winter-hardy: in the open ground it can tolerate temperatures down to -20 °C. If the maple is planted in a pot, make sure it is protected from frost with a lid. Japanese maples are best planted from March to early November. During this period, the soil is warm and the plants can root well. Japanese maples are strong plants, but the leaves can be damaged in a windy location. So place the Acer in a sheltered spot. The plant prefers a spot in partial shade, preferably not too much direct sunlight. Too much direct sunlight can cause the roots to dry out, which can lead to leaf loss and burning. A Japanese maple is not evergreen, which means that it loses its leaves in the winter. However, the plant is very winter-hardy and will sprout again in March with beautiful new leaves.

Format
The plant has a height of 60-70cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plant is supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 19cm.
