Acer palmatum 'Emerald Lace' is a beautiful Japanese Maple. The deeply incised leaves of Acer 'Emerald Lace' come to life in spring with a bright lime green color. As summer progresses, the leaves develop a red edge that creates a striking contrast. Finally, in autumn, the leaves turn a red-orange hue before falling to the ground. With such a vibrant bloom, this Japanese Maple is the perfect small garden tree.
Care
Acers are slow growers and therefore remain compact trees. This means that you can also grow them in a pot or smaller garden. Japanese maples are best planted from March to early November. During this period, the soil is warmer and the plants can root well. Japanese maples are strong plants, but the leaves can be damaged in a windy location. Therefore, place Acers in a sheltered place. The plants prefer a spot in partial shade, preferably not too much direct sunlight. Too much direct sunlight can cause the roots to dry out, which can lead to leaf loss and burn the leaves. Japanese maples are not evergreen, which means that they lose their leaves in the winter. However, the plants are very winter-hardy and will sprout again from March with beautiful new leaves.
Format
The plants have a height of 60-70cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 19cm.
