Acer palmatum 'Orange Dream' Set of 4 - Japanese Maple

The beautiful Acer Orange Dream has a spherical growth habit with deeply incised leaves. This maple tree actually colours all year round, in the spring fiery red to red-pink leaves, towards the summer the leaves change colour to blue-green with red veins and in the autumn the maple tree colours red again. This maple tree is also very suitable for a compact garden, because it is a slow grower. If the maple tree becomes too large, prune it back in March.

Care
Japanese maples are best planted from March to early October. During this period, the soil is warm and the plants can root well. In a planter, this plant does not require special potting soil. Japanese maples are strong plants, but the leaves can be damaged in a windy location. So place the Acer in a sheltered spot. The plant prefers a spot in partial shade, preferably not too much direct sunlight. Too much direct sunlight can cause the roots to dry out, which can lead to leaf loss and burning. A Japanese maple is not evergreen, which means that it loses its leaves in the winter. However, the plant is very winter-hardy down to -20°C and will sprout again in March with beautiful new leaves.
