The Acer 'Shaina' on trunk is one of the many types of Japanese maple. This Japanese maple also has beautiful colours with which you can decorate your garden. Towards spring the Acer gets bright red leaves. During the summer the leaf colours to chestnut brown and red to colour to crimson red in the autumn. Because of this mix of colours it is a special plant to see and a beautiful addition to your backyard.
Care
Japanese maples are best planted from March to early October. The soil is warmer and the plants can easily take root during this period. Japanese maples are strong plants, but in a windy location the leaves can easily be damaged. Therefore, place the Acer in a sheltered spot. The plant prefers a spot in the semi-shade, preferably with not too much direct sunlight. Too much direct sunlight can cause the roots and leaves to dry out, which can lead to leaf damage. A Japanese maple is not evergreen, which means that it loses its leaves in the winter. However, this plant is very winter-hardy and will sprout again in March with beautiful new leaves. The Shaina is a slow grower with a narrow, upright growth direction, which keeps the plant compact. This means that you can grow this tree in a pot or in a smaller garden.
Format
The plants have a height of 80-90cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 19cm.
