Acer palmatum 'Starfish' - Set of 2 - Japanese Maple

Why this Japanese maple is called the Starfish becomes clear as soon as you see the leaves. The leaves have a star shape due to their deep incision and thanks to the downward curling shape of the leaf they look like starfish! Not only the special shape of the leaves is striking about this Japanese maple, it also has a beautiful red color, which becomes even redder in the fall. It has an upright growth and becomes a lot wider at the top, which creates a beautiful vase shape. The Starfish is winter hardy and deciduous.

Care
The plant thrives best in a spot with partial shade to sun. It can be planted in the ground as well as in a pot. In the ground it prefers moist, acidic soil and in a pot it is best to use universal potting soil. It is best to prune the plant in the summer or in December, but only do this if it is really necessary.
