Imagine yourself in the rainforest with the Alocasia Portodora! This beautiful plant has large leaves with curled sides and immediately creates a jungle-like atmosphere. The Alocasia belongs to the Araceae family and originally comes from the tropics of South-East Asia. The Alocasia is also called Elephant's Ear, because of its enormous leaves, which in the wild can have a diameter of one and a half meters. But don't worry, they won't grow that big in the house!
Care
The Alocasia prefers to be in a consistently slightly moist soil. In winter the plant uses less water, but make sure that the soil does not dry out! You can check the soil regularly by sticking a finger in the soil. To prevent root rot, give the plant a small amount of water at a time. This prevents a layer of water from forming at the bottom of the pot. The Alocasia likes to be in a bright spot with at least 5 hours of sunlight. If it doesn't get enough sunlight, it will grow long stems that can no longer support the weight of the leaves, causing them to droop or even break. The plant likes moist air and likes to be watered weekly.
Format
The plant has a height of 110-120cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plant is supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 32cm.
