This gigantic Alocasia Zebrina is an extremely popular and well-known houseplant. The Alocasia originally comes from Asia where the plant grows in the rainforest. But nowadays the Zebrina can very often be found in homes because of its fantastic striped stems. These are black and white striped, just like a zebra. The unusual stems in combination with its beautiful green leaves are characteristic of the Alocasia. The beautiful heart-shaped leaves are also reminiscent of the floppy ears of an elephant. For that reason the plant is also called 'Elephant's ear'.
Care
Due to its origins in tropical regions, the Alocasia Zebrina prefers a humid environment. It is therefore important to always keep the potting soil moist by regularly giving small drops of water. Preferably do not give cold tap water: the Alocasia is quite sensitive. Preferably place the plant in a bright place, but not directly in the sun. It is also good to know that as soon as the Alocasia forms new leaves, an older leaf can turn yellow and droop. It is best to cut this just above the ground. Ultimately, the Zebrina can grow leaves up to 150 cm! Be careful because the Alocasia Zebrina is poisonous to humans and pets.
Format
The plant has a height of 140-150cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plant is supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 32cm.
