With the Araucaria Heterophylla, also known as the room pine, you bring a beautiful primeval tree into your home that gives your living room a fresh, natural look. The Araucaria originally comes from Norfolk Island, a tropical island near Australia, and is one of the oldest living plant species on earth. It is also called the Norfolk Island Pine. It looks a lot like a pine, but it is not really one. With a few lights and decorations, it can easily pass for a Christmas tree. However, you do not have to throw the plant away after Christmas, because it does not lose its leaves. This makes it a sustainable alternative to the Christmas tree. The room pine looks beautiful in the living room all year round and with the right care you can enjoy an ever-growing houseplant and Christmas tree every year!
Care
The Norfolk Pine prefers a light spot with indirect sunlight, but also does well in partial shade. If the plant is placed in a darker spot, it will grow more slowly, but this does not harm its health. Make sure that the Norfolk Pine is not in full shade or midday sun. Check the potting soil before watering, especially in the beginning. Stick your fingers a few centimetres into the soil. Does the soil feel dry? You can water the plant. Is the soil moist? Then it is better to wait a while. With the Norfolk Pine, it is better to give the plant too little water than too much.
Format
The plant has a height of 70-80cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plant is supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 21cm.
