This special plant comes from Mexico. The Beaucarnea has a characteristic, robust trunk that resembles an elephant's leg, which is where the Dutch nickname comes from: Elephant's leg. The plant immediately gives any room an exotic touch with its long, stringy leaves. Because of these leaves the plant is also called Pony Tail. Besides the fact that the plant is a real eye-catcher, it is also very easy to care for! This makes it perfect for people with less green fingers or offices.

Care
The Beaucarnea needs at least 5 hours of direct sunlight per day. The ideal place for this plant is directly in front of a window. If the plant does not get enough light, it will not grow fresh leaves and it is also more susceptible to root rot. The Beaucarnea does not need much water because it stores water in the stem. Simply feel the soil with your fingers before watering the plant. It only needs water when the soil feels dry for a while. In winter the plant needs less water than in summer. Don't worry if the plant is dry for several weeks during the winter period.
