Calathea 'Oppenheimiana' - Houseplant

The Calathea Oppenheimiana is a striking plant that more than deserves its nickname 'Peacock Plant' with its beautifully colored leaves and motifs. The Calathea originates from the jungles of the Amazon region and South America, where it grows in the shade. That is why it prefers not to be in full sun in living rooms. The Calathea Oppenheimiana fits into any interior and is guaranteed to steal the show with its light purple leaves. Fun fact: in the evening the plant closes its leaves, which they open again in the morning. So don't be alarmed if you hear some rustling!

Care
The Calathea uses a lot of water. You can regularly give the plant small amounts of water at a time. In summer the plant needs water twice a week, in winter this can be reduced to once a week. Make sure that the Calathea is always in slightly moist soil, but make sure that no layer forms at the bottom of the pot. The Calathea prefers a spot in the (half) shade, without direct sunlight, because this can burn the leaves.

The plant has a height of 120-130cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plant is supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 27cm.
