This special Camellia produces a lot of buds, guaranteeing an explosion of color in the early spring garden. The Camellia also provides color in the garden in winter, as it retains its leaves all year round. This makes it one of the best bloomers for the Northern European climate. Care
A Camellia prefers a slightly acidic, preferably humus-rich soil. In summer it is important to keep the soil around the plant well moist. The plant prefers partial shade. Eventually the plant will grow into a large shrub, but several plants can also be placed together to form one large shrub. Furthermore, the Camellia does not grow quickly, usually about 15-20 cm per year. Therefore, especially in the beginning, it is not necessary to prune the plant regularly. It is important to remove dead branches and spent flowers.
