Citrus aurantium Tarocco - Blood Orange

Grow your own tasty blood oranges with this Citrus Tarocco tree. The red, almost seedless flesh is very juicy and fragrant, with a perfect balance between sweet and bitter. The tree has few thorns and remains small, with fragrant blossoms in spring. The smooth, orange-yellow skin is thin to medium thick, with a red blush over more than half of the surface. The blossom of the Citrus Tarocco tree spreads a delicious sweet scent. The creamy white flowers appear abundantly in spring and the tree produces fruit every year. In addition, the Citrus Tarocco is winter hardy to -7°C, so when it gets cold it is advisable to bring the Tarocco inside. This way you can enjoy the tree every year!

Care
Citrus Tarocco prefers a sunny spot in the garden. It looks best as a tub plant. Choose a large flower pot with holes in the bottom. Give the Citrus Tarocco tree plenty of water immediately after planting. Pruning the tree is not really necessary, long branches or crossing twigs can be pruned back in February. Water regularly in the summer, preferably rainwater. Make sure the soil remains moist, but do not let the root ball of the tree drown.
