Codiaeum variegatum - Croton - Codiaeum Iceton

The Codiaeum Iceton is known for its changing appearance. The leaves of this plant start out very light yellow and slowly change into a dark green leaf with red accents. Usually the lower leaves are darker than the upper ones, which makes it a really special appearance. This beautiful, large houseplant is also called the miracle bush. This large plant is native to Malaysia, Australia and Indonesia, among others. In its natural habitat this plant can grow up to three meters high. Fortunately, growth is limited in our climate and the wonder shrub also fits nicely in a living room.

Care
Place the Codiaeum in a sunny spot. The wonder shrub needs at least five hours of sun per day. Place the plant by a window facing northeast or west. If the plant is placed by a window facing south, it is advisable to place the plant half a meter from the window, because otherwise the plant will receive too much direct sunlight. However, if there is too little light, the leaves can fall off or lose their beautiful color. A changing temperature can also cause the plant to lose its leaves.
