Cycas Revoluta - Set of 2 - Fern palm

The Cycas Revoluta is also known as the 'King Sago Palm' or 'Sago Palm' and is native to southern Japan. Here this palm can grow up to 5 to 7 meters high. Cycas Revoluta is a very slow grower and takes between 50 and 100 years to reach this height! Cycas actually belongs to the cycad group, not to palm trees. The most remarkable thing about Cycas, apart from the fact that the plant can last a lifetime if properly cared for, is that it already existed in the Carboniferous period. Palm fossils indicate that it is one of the oldest palms in the world.

Care
Due to its slow growth, Cycas is an excellent houseplant. The plant can also be placed outside, but not in direct sunlight and is not winter hardy. In addition, the plant can withstand temperatures from 0 to 42° Celsius. Cycas do not need much water, the roots are very sensitive to too much water. In winter the plant can easily go 4 to 6 weeks without water! It is important to know that this palm should absolutely not be eaten by humans or animals. The substances in the leaves are irritating and can be poisonous if ingested in large quantities.

Format
The plants have a height of 45-60cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 15cm.
