Dracaena, also known as dragon trees, originate from tropical Africa or Asia. Their name is derived from the Greek word drakaina, which means female dragon. When the plant is damaged, red resin flows from the 'wounds'. This resin is also called dragon's blood and has been used medicinally since ancient times. Today it is often used in medicines for gastrointestinal complaints and in nutritional supplements. It is also found in anti-aging creams: dragon's blood is said to have an antioxidant effect that is up to 5 times stronger than vitamin E. The Dracaena Compacta has a striking appearance. The beautiful dark green leaves and compact growth give the plant a unique appearance. In addition, the Dracaena is very easy to care for.

Care
This Dracaena is easy to care for: it likes bright light and a humid atmosphere. Regularly spraying the leaves with water ensures that the plant stays beautiful. The plant uses little water: you only need to water it when the soil feels dry. In the summer, it is better to keep the soil a little moist. The ideal temperature for this plant is between 18°C ​​​​and 25°C.
