Dracaena Marginata - Dragon Blood Tree

The Dracaena, also called the dragon blood tree, is one of the strongest and easiest houseplants to care for. The word Dracaena comes from the Greek word 'drakaina', which means 'female dragon'. The plant got its name because some Dracaena species have red sap, such as the Dracaena Draco. This sap used to be seen as dragon leaf. The Dracaena is the perfect houseplant for people without green fingers. It can survive for weeks without water or care. It is a tropical plant that originally comes from the rainforests of Asia, Africa and Central America.

Care
Dracaena Marginata will grow a little wider and larger, because it forms new side branches over the years. The plant thrives best in a light location (part sun), but a shady location is also very suitable for this plant. However, a bright, non-sunny location is best for the color of the leaves. This Dracaena has a beautiful fresh green leaf with a thin red edge around the leaf.
