This bamboo variety belongs to the non-spreading species, which means that it does not spread aggressively and does not overgrow the surrounding areas. The name 'Red Dragon' is derived from the characteristic red color of the stems. This bright, deep red shade gradually fades to a more subtle color as the stems age. Fargesia Red Dragon is also very winter hardy to -20 degrees Celsius and evergreen. Care
Fargesia Red Dragon is a bushy bamboo suitable for all types of soil. 'Red Dragon' thrives in semi-shade to full sun and is a relatively low-maintenance plant. The maximum height is approximately 300 cm. The plant needs sufficient water, especially in the summer, and prefers well-drained soil. Pruning is not necessary, but is allowed to maintain the desired shape and height.
