For example, the Ficus can live well in partial shade to shade, the plant needs little water and is resistant to insects. The rubber plant owes its name to the fact that rubber used to be made from the leaves. Nowadays, the plant is only grown to look nice in living rooms and offices. The Ficus originally comes from Africa, but the plant also occurs in South America, Australia and Asia. The Ficus belongs to the plant family Moraceae, or the Mulberry family. The Ficus Elastica Tineke has variegated leaves, which means that the leaves have lighter spots. This makes it a striking and beautiful houseplant!
Care
The Ficus Tineke is a very easy houseplant to care for. The Rubber Plant likes a light location, but try to avoid direct sunlight. So don't place the plant too close to the window. Furthermore, the Ficus likes a temperature of at least 15 degrees. To promote growth, it is advisable to occasionally remove the leaves, as they can collect a lot of dust. The Ficus Tineke needs water about once or twice a week. Let the soil dry out well between watering, in the winter the plant needs less water. Between March and September, the Ficus likes to receive some plant food regularly. Eventually, the Rubber Plant can grow up to 2 meters high in a large pot! Be careful, because the Ficus Tineke is poisonous to children and animals.
