Ficus Ginseng - Japanese Bonsai - Set of 2

Ficus microcarpa Ginseng originates from the beautiful south of China and Malaysia. In Chinese, Ginseng means 'root'. It takes years to form the irregularity of the root stump. The small-leaved ficus is then grafted onto the root stump. The plant is pruned with great patience, which creates the bonsai-like shape. The plant needs at least 10 years of growth to form the root. These are then imported and grown in the Netherlands. The genus Ficus belongs to the mulberry family (Moraceae) and is one of the most popular species within Bonsai for beginners.

Care
Ficus Ginseng needs a light place without bright sunlight. The lighter the plant is, the more water it needs. So water it regularly and never let the root ball dry out. In the summer, the plant can even be outside for a while, as long as the temperature does not drop below 12-15 degrees Celsius. In the winter, water less and leave it at 12-15 degrees Celsius. The yellow, brown or ugly leaves can be safely removed. Furthermore, the plant can be pruned in the autumn to keep the Ficus in good condition. To give the plant some extra vitality, it can be supplemented with Bonsai Nutrition.

Format
The plants have a height of 30-40cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 12cm.
