Hydrangea Anomala var. 'Petiolaris', better known as climbing hydrangea, originates from Japan and Northeast Asia. This wild climber grows mainly in wooded and mountainous areas. The climbing hydrangea is self-adhesive. With its aerial roots it can attach itself to almost any surface and can reach a maximum height of 4 to 5 meters. If you do not let the Hydrangea 'Petiolaris' climb, you can also let it grow as a shrub or ground cover. The maximum height of the shrub is then approximately 2 meters. The hardy shrub blooms from June to August with beautiful large white flowers.
Care
The Hydrangea 'Petiolaris' is not very critical in terms of location or soil type. This makes it a very popular climbing plant. However, keep in mind that if the plant is in the shade, it will produce fewer flowers than if it receives a lot of sunlight. The climbing hydrangea is not a fast grower, but can eventually reach a height of up to 1,20 to 1,20 feet. The climbing hydrangea grows both vertically and horizontally, so it can be beautifully trained in the desired shape and direction. If the climbing hydrangea really gets too big, you can easily prune it. The best time to do this is immediately after flowering or in winter.
Format
The plants have a height of 25-40cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 9cm.
