The Hydrangea paniculata 'Pinky Winky' is a panicle hydrangea. The flowers of this panicle hydrangea are pointed and stand on sturdy, dark red, woody stems. The panicle consists of many fertile flowers in the middle of the panicle, surrounded by slightly larger infertile flowers that attract insects for pollination. The flower panicles change colour from white to dark pink. The colour of the flowers of the Pinky Winky hydrangea can safely be called spectacular. Hydrangeas do not like drought and need a lot of water, especially in summer. It is best to give the hydrangea a generous amount of water at once, rather than just a little every now and then.
