Hydrangea 'Summer Shine' - Set of 2 - Hortensia

This blue, umbel-flowered hydrangea has an intense autumn colour. The shrub grows more in width than in height and remains compact. This shrub can be used as a solitary, in a flower border, but also as a tub plant. Summer Glow blooms profusely on 1-year-old wood. The flowers of the 'Summer Glow' come well above the plant, which makes the plant beautiful to look at. The hydrangea is very winter-hardy and can tolerate a late night frost well, but the plant is not evergreen so loses its leaves during the winter. Prune out the faded flowers in the spring. Depending on the pH of the soil, the plant blooms with large blue or pink flower clusters.

Care
Hydrangeas do not like drought and need a lot of water, especially in the summer. It is best to give the hydrangea a lot of water at once, then a little bit every now and then. Planting is possible from March to mid-October, both in the open ground and in a decorative pot, but it grows best in the open ground. When planting, keep a distance of 75 cm between the plants. The plant can best be pruned in March, about 30 cm above the ground. The harder you prune the hydrangea, the larger the flowers will become.
