Jasminum officinale, also known as 'common jasmine', is a strong deciduous climber. This summer, jasmine blooms from May to September with small, white, star-shaped flowers, followed by black berries. Jasmine is extremely suitable as a climber and for growing on walls. Some plants do need some support to climb up. By using plant supports and securing parts of the plant with a string, they will climb up. The flowers, formed in clusters, provide a beautiful sea of flowers in both spring and summer. The white jasmine is therefore also extremely suitable as a climber to brighten up a dull wall or fence. In summer, this plant attracts butterflies and bees. It is a real asset to the garden.
