Jatropha Podagrica naturally occurs in tropical Central America. They can grow up to two meters high, with an impressively thickened trunk and leaves of 30 centimeters in diameter. Fortunately, they don't get that big in the house. However, even very young and small specimens can produce leaves larger than your hand. The Jatropha also blooms beautiful red flowers in the summer, with a flowering period of approximately 20 weeks! In the Netherlands the plant is also called bottle plant, because of its unique shape.
