Monstera Deliciosa - Hole plant

This gigantic Monstera is a tropical plant with leaves with holes in them. Because this is so unusual, the plant has been named 'Monstera', which means 'strange' in Latin. The plant is also called 'Hole plant'. These holes not only look nice, but they are also very useful in nature. They prevent the plant from being blown over in a storm, because the wind and rain largely pass through the holes. The Monstera originally comes from South and Central America, where it often grows up tree trunks or curls along the ground. This plant therefore comes with a moss stick on which it can grow upwards.

Care
The Monstera is originally a tropical plant. That is why the plant always likes a slightly moist potting soil. Make sure there is no layer of water at the bottom of the pot. Try to spray the Monstera leaves regularly to prevent the leaf edges from drying out. The Monstera can grow very quickly and develops long branches with leaves that can reach several meters in length. It is also good to know that the Monstera is poisonous. So place the plant in a place where children and pets cannot reach it. Make sure that the plant is in partial shade or another bright spot. Avoid direct sunlight, because the Monstera is a real shade plant. This is how you keep a happy Monstera. And it gives you a lot!
