The olive tree, officially Olea Europaea, is the oldest tree known in history. With their silvery foliage, gnarled trunks and clusters of fragrant white flowers in spring, these characteristic trees are beautiful focal points in the garden during all seasons. It is a beautiful evergreen tree that gives a Mediterranean touch to the garden or balcony. Olive trees are very hardy, making them ideal for colder areas. And of course the tree also grows real olives!
Care
Olive trees are ideal for any garden. The trees can be planted in pots and placed on the patio, but they can also be planted in the ground. Olive trees prefer a sunny location and do not like wet feet. So if the tree is planted in a pot, make sure that the pot has holes in the bottom so that excess water can drain away. Water the Olea regularly in the spring and summer. Pruning is not necessary for the time being, but is best done in early spring or in the fall (around October). Before the olives grow, the Olea blooms in the spring with small creamy white and yellow flowers. The olives can be harvested when they are still green or after they have fully ripened in late fall, depending on how they are to be used. Most freshly picked olives (even those that are fully ripe) are very bitter and should be pickled or sun-dried before eating.
Format
The plants have a height of 80-90cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 19cm.
