The oriental wild vine (Parthenocissus tricuspidata) is a beautiful, self-clinging climber with an enchanting red autumn colour. Thanks to the strong adhesive roots, the vine grows quickly and firmly against the facade and fence. In the autumn, the leaves turn bright red with beautiful orange hues in between. Then it loses its leaves in the winter. The parthenocissus is a very fast-growing climber. It is also very winter-hardy and can tolerate temperatures down to -30C without any problems. However, we recommend covering young plants in moderate to severe frost. The wild vine can grow up to 6 metres high.
Care
The wild liana is a very easy plant that requires little care. Place the plant in a well-drained soil and do not give it too much water. It does not need support and easily climbs up the ground by itself. In the beginning, however, you can help the plant to grow in the desired direction. Place one or two plants per linear meter for the best effect.
Format
The plants have a height of 25-40cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 9cm.
