The Phalaenopsis, also known as the moon orchid or butterfly orchid, originates from the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia, the Philippines and Australia, where it mainly grows in trees. The butterfly orchid is incredibly popular and it is not difficult to understand why. The orchid not only produces elegant flowers in beautiful colours, it is also easy to care for and has a long flowering period that can last up to three months. The Phalaenopsis is also one of the few species that produces multiple flower branches per year. The Phalaenopsis Multiflora Pink produces beautiful pink flowers on 3 flower branches.
Care
The Phalaenopsis prefers a minimum night temperature of 16°C and a maximum day temperature of 32°C. The ideal day temperature is between 20 and 22°C. Place the orchid in a light spot, but without direct sunlight, especially in the summer months. Are the leaves turning yellow? The plant is probably getting too much direct sunlight. Falling flower buds or dark green leaves, on the other hand, indicate a lack of light. Do not pour the water for the orchid into the heart of the plant, but onto the soil in the pot. Even better is to immerse the pot in a bucket for a minute. Then the orchid can easily go seven days without water. Preferably use special orchid potting soil.
Format
The plant has a height of 35-45cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plant is supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 12cm.
