The Philodendron does not need too much water. It is best to keep the potting soil moist, but not wet. You can give the plant a little water every time and occasionally check the soil to make sure it is not getting too wet. This way you ensure that no layer of water forms at the roots. Are the leaves turning yellow? This is often a sign that the plant is getting too much water. In this case, reduce the amount of water. The Philodendron prefers a spot in partial shade.
