The name Prunus Armeniaca suggests that the plant originally comes from Armenia, but this is not true! The tree is originally from Northeast China. It grows delicious apricots that are a bit smaller than normal. This makes them perfect for the temperate climate of northwestern Europe. The apricots can be harvested in August. The ripe apricots can be eaten straight, but are also delicious in jam. The apricot tree also has beautiful light pink flowers that bloom from March to early April. It provides life in the garden by attracting butterflies and bees.
