Salix repens 'Iona' - Dwarf Willow

When yellow-gray catkins appear on the weeping branches of this willow, it's a clear sign that spring has arrived! Salix repens 'Iona' is a stemmed dwarf shrub and is also called creeping willow because of its distinctive growth habit. This species is particularly suitable as a standalone plant in a smaller garden, but can also be planted in borders combined with other perennials or in a pot on the patio. The tree is deciduous and in spring develops elongated, oval, gray-green leaves with silvery-white undersides. It is very winter-hardy, tolerates sea winds and air pollution, and its leaves turn yellow in autumn. A wonderful addition to the garden!

Dog Care
Salix repens 'Iona' is easy to care for. It is important to water the plant regularly and keep the soil slightly moist. Place this willow in a place in the house with lots of light. Outside, the plant does well in full sun. When the Salix has finished flowering in April/May, it can be pruned back. However, be careful with your pets, because the plant is poisonous.
