Product Description

The Pepino Gold (Solanum muricatum) is a special and original plant to have in your home! The fruit is also called the apple melon or melon pear because of its color, shape and taste. The Pepino tastes deliciously sweet and is reminiscent of the taste of melon, with sweet and firm flesh. The melon pear originally comes from the highlands of Colombia, Ecuador and Peru where it is grown at an altitude of 900-2800 meters. Furthermore, the fruit is incredibly healthy, and contains vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B11 and C. Pepino is delicious to use in combination with various cheeses and herbs, or can be used as fruit in a dessert or pie.

Care
With good care, Pepino Gold can produce a lot of fruit. Give the plants a sip of water regularly. In addition, the melon pear can flower very quickly, sometimes within 4 months. Just like with tomatoes, it is advisable to pick the leaves regularly, so that more sunlight can reach the fruit and they can ripen better. From August, the first fruits are ready to be picked and eaten!

Format
The plants have a height of 25-40cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 9cm.
