Strelitzia Nicolai in basket - Bird of Paradise flower

The Strelitzia Nicolai, known in the Netherlands as the Bird of Paradise plant, originates from South Africa. This beautiful plant transforms the living room into a real jungle in no time! With its large and sturdy green leaves, this houseplant is suitable for any interior. The Streltizia belongs to the Musaceae family and is therefore a close relative of the banana plant. A typical feature of this family are the cracks in the leaves of the plants. This is completely natural for the bird of paradise plant and nothing to worry about!

Care
The Strelitzia Nicolai is a real sun worshiper and therefore prefers a place with lots of light. As a result, the plant also needs a lot of water (pay attention to drainage to prevent root rot). In spring and summer the plant can also be placed on the terrace. The plant is not winter hardy, so if there is a risk of frost, you should bring it back indoors. The Strelitzia is slightly poisonous to children and pets. Moreover, the Strelitzia is known for its beautiful exotic flowers. However, this often only happens when the plant is decades old. Therefore, leave the plant for a while!

Format
The plant has a height of 55-70cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plant is supplied in a decorative basket with a diameter of 17cm.
