The Tulbaghia violacea, also known as wild garlic or Cape garlic, is a versatile plant for your garden. With its beautiful purple flowers that spread a light garlic scent, it steals the show. The flowers and stems of the plant are edible and have a subtle garlic flavor. Finely chopped, wild garlic is delicious in salads, tzatsiki and other sauces and can even be used as a garlic substitute. In addition, the wild garlic attracts butterflies and bees, which makes for a lively garden. Enjoy the beautiful flowers, wonderful scent and culinary possibilities that the Tulbaghia offers all year round.
Care
Wild garlic prefers a spot in full sun. Depending on how it spends the winter, the plant retains its leaves. If the plant is kept in a cold and dark place in winter, it will die and come back in April. The plant is winter hardy in mild climates (down to about -10 degrees). Water the plant regularly. Moisten the soil to the bottom and wait a few days for the soil to dry before watering again. This prevents wet feet.
Format
The plants have a height of 15-25cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 9cm.
