The Washingtonia is also called the 'Mexican Fan Palm'. This palm owes its name to the first president of the United States, George Washington. The leaves of the Washingtonia, which are characterized by their beautiful light green color, are particularly large and can grow to a meter in diameter. It is a fast grower and can grow up to 15 meters high. This palm is extremely suitable as a patio palm, garden palm or even as a house palm.
Care
The Washingtonia Robusta likes a sunny location and well-drained soil. Water the palm regularly in the summer, preferably every day in a dry/warm summer. Like many tropical palms, the Washingtonia produces a large root system to provide itself with food and water. The plant can be kept both in the open ground and in a pot, but if the pot is too small, the palm will turn yellowish and slowly die. So make sure you have a spacious pot and well-drained soil. The palm can be kept both indoors and outdoors, but is unfortunately not winter hardy. The Washingtonia can tolerate a maximum of a few degrees (+/- 5 degrees) of frost. However, if the Washingtonia is in a pot, it can easily be brought inside in the winter.
Format
The plants have a height of 50-60cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 15cm.
